I'm not your private toy || Genevieve & Sabella

princess-sabella:

gen-theseamistress:

“DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I HAVE DONE FOR THERA?!” She yelled back. Really? Gen was practically the reason why Sabella was here right now, in her natural habitat and and acting like a brat. “And by the way, you are here literally ever other day with some other demand” She said, lowering her voice. “en, I need longer hair, Gen, I need shinier scales, Gen I need by brother to never speak again, Gen, Gen, Gen…!”She said in a perfect imitation of Sabella’s voice, then dived to the floor and started stamping out the lime green substance that was starting to spread on the floor with her bare hands, causing it to disappear before everything, including them, turned into tadpoles.

“Besides, Sabella, both of us would be left out to dry under the searing sun if we were charged with murder! Not even a princess can get away with that!” she argued. Truthfully, Gen could kill the whole kingdom and get away with it, even look like she had nothing to do with it, but she doubted Sabella had the energy or the intelligence to figure that out at this point. “You’re so full of shit, Bella” she huffed with half a smirk on her face and began to swim back to her workshop, figuring out what to do with Sabella and her so said ‘problem’.

Sabella rolled her eyes at Gen’s unnecessary outburst. “Wow, chill a little, sea-bitch,” she said, though Sabella herself was a little more serene now. And okay, maybe she came to Gen with requests every day, but they were legitimate and important and Gen was under palace rule. She should have answered all of Sabella’s wishes anyway, like a genie. Sabella pouted as Gen rushed around stamping away the green goo she had knocked over. Gen was such a clean freak, and it was mega boring.

She sighed and yawned as Gen began her tirade on how they would be expelled from the mermaid community if they murdered someone. What-like-ever. Sabella was loved by the kingdom, and her dad would never let any harm befall her. Maybe GEN would have been in danger following a murder, but it was really selfish of the other girl to just think of herself at such an important time. She balked at Gen’s insult. It wasn’t like the sea-witch to lose her temper so easily- those rights were reserved for Sabella. The brunette followed Gen around the room, trying to figure out what her problem was.

“So what seashorse is up in your grill, Genevivie? Are you lookin’ for some lovin’?” smiling crudely, Sabella began rhyming, “Gen, Gen, never sleeps with any men, she’s gonna be alone til she’s one thousand and ten.” She paused and looked over at Gen, trying to see if she’d gotten a rise out of her. This was turning out funner than expected.

Grinding her teeth at the painful thought that she was going to have to babysit the Princess for the next couple of hours in order to make sure she didn’t do anything stupid on her own, she tried merely ignoring her and going back to her worshop, knowing that Sabella would surely follow out of sheer curiosity. Despite the fact that throughout every day of her life Sabella has insulted Gen’s craft over and over again (despite everything it’s done for her), she could always feel Sabella’s watchful eye, secretly dying to take a peak at what’s inside the big black pot.

“Sabella, Sabella, she’s worse than salmonella, she lets guys up her butt, most say she’s a slut” She chimed back cooly. They had always played this game ever since they were little, and Gen had no problem taking it up a notch for Sabella. Unlike every living (and dead) soul in this world, she was not afraid of Sabella. In fact, she found her quite the amusement during the one second of the day in which she wasn’t acting like a spoilt brat. She continued to swim back to the room which was now glowing all sorts of luminous colors, trying to think of something she could give Sabella so that she would be satisfied while still keeping the other poor mermaid alive.

The First Meeting - 8 months earlier || Adella & Genevieve

a-tethys:

gen-theseamistress:

Gen had to strategize. She could tell that Adella was a mermaid due to her movements, her natural personality and the way she seemed to ease at the sound of Gen’s voice. She needed to move in slowly, figure things out one at a time and be as subtle as possible, not just bombard her with theories and questions all at once. The last thing she wanted was to make Adella feel uncomfortable or suspicious of something. So, when Adella invite her to dine together, Gen saw that as a perfect opportunity to strike up a conversation about her past.

“I would be honored to dine with you” she replied cooly with a small smile, not bothering to mention that she had never been, nor knew exactly what the so said Diner was. Gen had been to the island many times, but mostly just on the beach or in her cabin. She’d only been to town two times to check up on Aria, and was not familiar with the human businesses that were run there. She had a vague knowledge of the culture, but she had learnt how to speak and act like a human quick enough, and she would learn how to eat at a Diner just as fast.

“Shall we go then?” she asked, sprang up onto her elegantly long legs and offered the other girl a hand, smiling at her lack of hesitation to take it. She brushed the remainder of sand off the back of her jeans and started walking in the direction of the town, hoping Adella wasn’t expecting her to lead.

Adella slowly pushed herself up off the worn wooden shack floor. Dusting away any dirt on her light brown shorts and wiping away the sand from the back of her thighs. She snapped her head up, adjusting her striped shirt down over her flat stomach and pulled down on her sleeves once more with a smile. “Alright, well I think there’s a diner near or I think maybe it’s a bar…either way I know you can get food there.” She started to say thinking about the way to the place. She hadn’t been on the island long and she wasn’t too sure of her way around town yet but she hoped that if she got lost, Gen would help her out.

As they started to walk in the direction Addie believed was the bar she was hoping for, she couldn’t shake the feeling that even the way Gen spoke sent seemed out of place on the island and the fact that she couldn’t figure out why was slowly picking at her, over and over, in the most annoying fashion. “Let’s hope I remember how to get there. I don’t think I’ve ever been there this far in the afternoon, everything looks different when the sun is setting.” Addie laughed trying to make conversation. “I’m sure you’ve been here before, the bartender is always working on Sudoku puzzles or something like it? The service isn’t the best but the food’s really good.” She lied trying to mask the way her face lit up when she spoke of the bartender she knew nothing about

“Oh… yeah, loads of times” lied Gen cooly. All she could do now was hope that Adella made up her mind and chose a place rather than them having to rely on Gen’s sense of smell to lead them to someplace that sells edible human substances. Anything but seafood, she thought, which resulted in her involuntarily spouting out: ”I’m allergic to fish”.

The sunset really was beautiful, and Gen couldn’t stop looking back at it as they got further away from the sea and closer to town. As they kept on walking, the sandy dunes slowly turned into dirt paths which then slowly turned into actual roads. The gradient between nature and man-made territory was very noticeable to Gen, since she wasn’t used to it. More signs… more benches… more light, more people walking around. “So, do have any other friends here?” she asked Adella as they walked, hoping not to come across as too forward or rude. Even when they weren’t talking, the silence they shared was not an awkward one, but a peaceful one.

The First Meeting - 8 months earlier || Adella & Genevieve

a-tethys:

Adella found it odd hearing Gen say she’d seen her around the library several times. She couldn’t remember going to the library more than twice since she’d been at Orcas, but she wasn’t about to mention anything fearing Gen would be insulted. Instead Adella just nodded as if she understand completely.  There was something odd in the way the thin blonde held herself, her movements, the flutter of her eyes, everything was unlike most of the people she’d met on the island. A natural gracefulness, similar to that of her own.

Once again, as Gen spoke Adella found herself wanting to roll her eyes at her obvious failed attempt at coming up for an excuse, but over the long months, Adella had learned never to do that to a person, specially if it’s someone you’ve just met. She might not remember much about her previous life with her parents but she still remembered her well manners, and if she ever forgot them her mother was sure to remind her.

Instead, Adella just laughed softly and threw her head back in amusement. “Right. Shy, I can totally see you being the shy person.” She said with a raise of her eyebrow. It was a nice refreshment, meeting Gen who appeared to be more laid back than the rest of the people she’d met. Everyone else felt stiff, like if they were trying too hard, once again the Gen’s graceful ways seemed oddly out of place but she wasn’t about to turn this away. Adella needed someone like Gen around, someone she felt comfortable around, which lately was a rare thing. “Well Gen the shy one, would you care to go accompany me to the diner? I was about to get something to eat before you showed up and it’d be incredibly rude of me not to offer you an invite.”

Freedom's Rock || Kale & Genevieve

With the help of her extra powers, Genevieve swam about four times faster than Kale. She waved her tale furiously and willed the current to speed her up and slow down her opponent. A sleek smile spread across her face as she swam full speed ahead towards a large, natural stone pillar. Instead of crashing into it face-first, she lifted her arms up and pulled herself onto it’s surface, flipping her head backwards in order to whip her long blonde hair out of her face. She turned herself so that she could sit comfortably before scooting backwards so that her dark, onyx tail was completely out of the water. She made sure to leave space on Freedom’s Rock for the merman that was due any second. They had named this spot Freedom’s Rock when they were little, because it was as far away as they could get from home where they were allowed to say anything they wanted and do as they pleased without anyone scolding or supervising them. She closed her eyes and  leaned her head back and breathed in the cold, wet and salty air of the sea, snapping it back with another smile on her her face as she greeted the tall, handsome King-to-be as he pulled himself up onto the rock and slid himself into place next to her.

“I win,” she purred triumphantly. Of course she won. She had never lost against him, due to two facts: 1)She had powers and he did not, 2) Sometimes he just let her win for the sake of it. His bright crimson tale juxtaposed brilliantly against her dark purple, almost black one. She helped him by pulling strands of wet hair out of his face as he steadied himself carefully on the rock, making sure not to slide off. Freedom’s Rock  was a large rock that pretty much came out of no where in the middle of the stormy sea. It was only large enough for two people and had a lot of slippery sharp edges which didn’t make it the most comfortable of places but they had been coming here since they were strong enough to swim off alone and it was theirs, which made it good enough for her.
